03/22/2008 - The Lingerie and Jewelry Chest is Done !

It's been quiet here on the web page, but not in the workshop! Since the beginning of February I've been working on this jewelry chest to give to my mom for her 70th birthday. It's made from some black walnut that my Dad had rough cut over 25 years ago.  The web page for this project has all the details and a few shots of the finished  gift.

01/31/2008 - DVD Player Cabinet is ready for finishing!

I finished sanding the cabinet tonight and the Transtint dye stain is due to be delivered tomorrow so maybe I'll start the finishing work on the cabinet this weekend.

I added the little chat window to the home page since my daughter wanted me to add some kind of blog page so she could leave me messages. Feel free to add some comments!

I've started another project, but it's a surprise so I wont be posting any info on this until it's done ... sorry :-(

01/22/2008 - More Room in the Workshop!

With Nancy's help we cleaned out and made more space in the garage so I'm not tripping over everything. I added some pictures to the The Workshop page.

The picture frame is done and mounted on the office wall !

I started Project #3, the DVD Player cabinet.

01/16/2008 - New Workshop Additions !

I'm staining the picture frame ... I'm not too happy with the results .. but .. that's just the way it goes. Also picked up some new toys yesterday. Check out the updated workshop page.

01/12/2008 - Project #2 - Picture Frame.

The picture frame is drying after using the new picture frame jig to help clamp it tight. Cross your fingers. :-)

01/12/2008 - Project #1 - Picture Frame Jig added.

The picture frame jig link at the left will take you to this project page. I learned quite a lot from this simple project (like how important it is clamp your material when assembling and making perfectly square cuts). I also got some good experience on the new table saw.

01/11/2008 - Web site started.

After finishing up on the picture frame jig I thought it would be good to start documenting some of my woodworking experiences. (if for nothing else so that I could have a good laugh a couple of years from now).
